IndiGo on early Thursday announced an extension of its waiver on change and cancellation fees for flights to and from Srinagar.
The waiver will now be applicable for travel until May 22, 2025, for all bookings made on or before April 22, 2025.
"Continuing our efforts to provide support to our customers and accommodate their travel plan changes, we are extending full waiver of change and cancellation fees for travel to/from Srinagar until 22nd May 2025, for bookings made on or before 22nd April 2025," the airline said in a statement on Z.
IndiGo’s announcement comes as several northern and western Indian airports remain affected by airspace restrictions following India’s missile strikes in Pakistan under Operation Sindoor.
A total of 27 airports across northern, western, and central India have been closed for commercial operations until 5:29 am on Saturday, May 10, according to a report by The Times of India on Thursday.

The closures have triggered widespread disruption in air traffic, with Indian airlines cancelling around 430 flights on Thursday—roughly 3% of the country’s total scheduled operations. In Pakistan, over 147 flights were cancelled, accounting for nearly 17% of the country’s daily flight schedule.
According to global flight tracking platform Flightradar24, the airspace over Pakistan and the western corridor of India—from Kashmir to Gujarat—was largely devoid of civilian aircraft on Thursday.
“Airspace over Pakistan and the western shoulder of India between Kashmir and Gujarat was free of civilian air traffic as airlines shunned the sensitive zone,” the platform stated, citing live flight data and cancellation numbers.
