Prime Minister Narendra Modi sharpened his political attack at a rally in Bihar's Motihari, targeting the RJD over the "land-for-jobs" scam involving Lalu Prasad and his family, and asserting that only the NDA can deliver clean governance and opportunities. In West Bengal's Durgapur, Modi turned the heat on the Trinamool Congress, accusing it of appeasement and vote-bank politics by aiding infiltrators from Bangladesh, and warned that Bengal's identity and national security were at stake.
At Motihari, the prime minister gave the slogan "Banayenge Naya Bihar, Phir ek baar NDA sarkar", emphasising that Rs 1 Lakh Crore has been allocated to creating jobs and the backward, Dalit and tribals of Bihar will be among the major beneficiaries.
Modi stated that his government has approved a major scheme worth Rs 1 lakh Crore for supporting first-time job seekers. Under this scheme which will kick off from August 1, youth receiving their first appointment in a private company will be granted ₹15,000 by the Centre. He also mentioned the Mudra scheme for promoting self-employment and said in the past two months, lakhs of loans have been disbursed in Bihar under it.
The prime minister underlined that naxalism- which had affected districts like Champaran, Aurangabad, Gaya and Jamui- has been considerably weakened and will end soon.
He said the PM Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana under which 100 most backward districts in terms of agriculture will be identified and provided support is also going to benefit the weaker sections.
"During the earlier dispensation, they would get your land allotted in their name in lieu of giving government jobs. That was Bihar under the lantern (RJD symbol), today's Bihar is shining under a new light," Modi said.
At the Durgapur rally, the prime minister lashed out at the TMC government, alleging it is assisting infiltration from Bangladesh for its "appeasement politics".
"In West Bengal, Trinamool, for its self-interest, is putting Bengali identity at stake. Infiltration has increased, with a forged documents ecosystem developed by TMC. Bengal and the country's safety and security are at stake. For appeasement politics, Trinamool is crossing all limits. For BJP, Bengal's 'asmita' (identity) is of prime importance," PM stressed.
"Those who are not citizens of India and have come to India through infiltration, all legal actions will be taken as per the Constitution. No conspiracy will be allowed against Bengal," Modi noted.
The PM said that Trinamool has created a complete ecosystem of infiltrators with forged identity cards. "All actions will be taken against the infiltrators, with fake Identity cards, as per the Constitution of India," Modi said.
