Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Even as departments like the police and the PWD are taking strict action against employees who refuse to comply with transfer orders, the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) appears to be following its own set of rules.
Despite transfer orders issued nearly 24 days ago, additional commissioner Devendra Singh Chauhan and assistant commissioner Ekta Agrawal continue to function in Bhopal instead of joining their new postings in Jabalpur and Dewas respectively.

However, no official action has been taken against them so far. This is in sharp contrast to recent actions by other departments.
A few days ago, Bhopal DCP Shraddha Tiwari suspended eight police personnel who failed to report to their new postings despite being transferred 20 days ago.
Similarly, on Wednesday, the PWD suspended engineer Ravishankar Chouksey for disobeying his transfer order and warned of strict action against any employee who failed to report at his new location.
Meanwhile, staff unions within the BMC have repeatedly written to higher authorities, demanding that Chauhan and Agrawal be relieved of their duties in Bhopal.
