Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav met cancer patients coming from weaker sections of society at Virat Hospice near Bhedaghat in Jabalpur.
He lauded the selfless service being provided to patients whose cancer is in the terminal stage. Yadav inquired about their well-being.
On this occasion, nursing staff and cancer patients welcomed the Chief Minister with roses. Yadav stated that this initiative of the Brahmrishi Bavra Mission is an exceptional example of humanitarian service.
He praised Sadhvi Gyaneshwari Didi and her colleagues for their care and service to poor cancer patients. Before meeting the cancer patients, Chief Minister inspected the under-construction cancer hospital building within the Virat Hospice premises.
Chief Minister was informed by Dr Akhilesh Gumasta the medical director of Virat Hospice about the facilities available in the under-construction hospital for cancer treatment, including the brachytherapy unit.
Treatment for cancer patients in this hospital will be provided free of charge. An ultramodern cobalt machine for radiotherapy of cancer patients is also being installed here. Treatment with this machine will commence after approval from the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre.
The Chief Minister also visited the gaushala within the Virat Hospice premises and fed the cows. He was informed that the milk from these cows is given to the cancer patients admitted to the hospice and biogas is used for cooking the meals served to patients.
Only organic vegetables grown on the premises are served in the patients' meals.
