Digital Desk, New Delhi. Saudi Arabia's Prince Al-Waleed bin Khalid bin Talal, often called the "Sleeping Prince", celebrated his 36th birthday last week. But this birthday was also spent in his nearly two decade long unconscious state. He went into a coma after suffering a serious brain injury in a car accident in London in 2005 and has been in this state ever since.
Prince is on life support
Prince Al-Waleed has been on life support with the help of a ventilator and feeding tube for nearly 19 years. He is monitored by a dedicated medical team at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh. According to doctors, his condition has changed little over the years.

Mild signs were seen in 2019
There was a time in 2019 when some movement was seen in his fingers and his head also moved slightly. This news became a ray of hope for those who still pray for his recovery. But no concrete improvement has been recorded after that.
The family is still hopeful
Prince Al-Waleed's father Prince Khalid bin Talal and mother Princess Reema bint Talal are still living in the hope of Allah's mercy and their son's awakening. Prince Khalid has said many times before that he would never allow the life support equipment to be removed, because he believes it is Allah's will.
Shower of prayers on social media
No official statement was issued by the family on his birthday on April 18 this year. But people from all over the world sent prayers for him on social media and expressed hope that one day he would regain consciousness.
