In the latest episode of Coronation Street Tracy Barlow declared Abi Webster a 'devious, mucky cow' as she uncovered her secret affair on Friday night.
The legendary character, who has been played by Kate Ford on the ITV soap since 2002, has been getting involved with Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) in recent days, but had been growing suspicious that another woman was on the scene. Viewers have known for weeks that Abi, who is married to Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) has been having an affair with her brother-in-law, that was all sparked when she discovered her husband had been given the all-clear after a testicular cancer battle but failed to tell her the truth.
Earlier this week, Carl and Tracy went for drinks and she guessed that he had fallen in love with Abi, although he thought he had thrown her off the scent by telling her that he had an ex in Wales that he was going to visit.

However, it all went wrong when Abi, who had managed to avoid a foreign holiday with Kevin by pretending to have lost her passport, moved Carl in for a few days and Tracy watched them getting passionate through the window. Just moments before, the pair had nearly been caught by Carl's sister Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney), who had let herself into number 13 and decided to tidy up.
But Debbie, who fans will know was diagnosed with vascular dementia earlier this year, collapsed on the spot and was found by Carl. Abi (Sally Carman) said that she would call the ambulance and panicked that she had seen Carl. After Debbie had gone to hospital, Abi breathed a sigh of relief and told Carl they were 'in the clear', but their problems were far from over.
Never one to shy away from an argument, Tracy brayed on the door of number 13 and Abi told her secret lover upstairs to keep out of the way. Earlier in the day, she had caught Abi buying cans in the corner shop and wormed her way into Abi's home by feigning concern for her as she is aware that she previously had some addiction struggles.
Tracy said: "I've been thinking about you all on your own. Those beers weren't for Kevin, were they? They were for you! Babe, I've been thinking, we used to be really good mates and we've let that slip a bit. I'm not leaving til I know you're okay! Call it an intervention. Stick the kettle on!"
Over a coffee, Tracy pushed Abi further as she constantly mentioned her last few months with Kevin and tried to fake support. In the end, Tracy decided she would deal with the situation head on and blurted out to Abi: "There's something I've been meaning to ask you about Carl. What's he like in bed?" and called for him to come down the stairs.
Without any room left to lie, Carl padded down the stairs and Abi threw her head in her hands as she realised that Tracy had rumbled her secret. In a heated confrontation, Tracy said: "With Kevin's own brother! Talk about a kick in the nuts. Or nut, where Kevin is concerned." Carl and Abi begged Tracy not to say anything as she reminded her that he was still recovering after his cancer battle. Tracy shot back: "Oh, so you now you play the cancer card?" before setting out the price for her silence: "I'm going through a divorce at the moment, and they don't come cheap."
Tracy, who split from Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) after she had an affair with local footballer Tommy Orpington, invited the pair of them to the bistro later that night where she laid out her blackmail plot. Tracy's final offer was £10,000 and Carl asked for 'a bit more time' to come up with the money. After Tracy left, Abi fumed: "That woman is Satan. You have just made a deal with the devil!"
While all this had been going on, Debbie woke up in Weatherfield General where her fiance Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) greeted her with coffee and sandwiches. She explained: "I was just overdoing it, trying to stay active. I thought I heard Carl, after I collapsed."
But she decided to put it all down to her condition, just as Ronnie revealed that Kevin had decided to head back from his holiday early after hearing the news. Debbie said: "I'm fine, I'm just hearing things, that's all. I could've sworn that Carl was in that room for me."
