The late Princess Diana may have had access to some of the finest cuisine in the world during her time at Kensington Palace, but according to her former personal chef, there was one dish she eventually grew weary of.
Darren McGrady, who cooked for the Princess of Wales for several years, revealed in a YouTube video that Diana quickly grew frustrated with how often she was served salmon.
The chef explained that the repetition came from charities and hosts always asking what her favourite food was before preparing a meal in her honour.
McGrady said:"If she was going out for lunch, the charities [she worked with] would call the palace and say, 'What does the Princess like? What are her favourite foods? I had the [palace] office call me one day and ask, 'What is the Princess' favourite, what is she eating right now?' And I said she loves salmon."

But Diana soon let him know that she had had enough. "I'm starving, please tell me it's not salmon. What is it with salmon and you chefs? Everywhere I go these days, everyone's serving salmon," she told him, according to McGrady.
After realising that his planning had backfired, the chef admitted that he immediately started to make sure there was variety to the menu.
At one point he even joked to Diana that he was to blame for her being inundated with chicken dishes as a result of his suggestions.
Despite her dislike of monotony, Diana was committed to healthy eating, and salmon remains a staple superfood for many today because it is packed with omega-3 fatty acids, high in protein and rich in vitamins.
McGrady has previously spoken about how Diana’s diet shaped his cooking after moving from the royal kitchens of Queen Elizabeth II, where heavy sauces and rich dishes were the norm.
He explained: “She was into healthy eating, so we never had beef on the menu, unless the boys were home. She never ate pork. Occasionally she'd have lamb when she was entertaining guests, but for the most part it was chicken, fish or vegetarian options.”
The chef recalled Diana’s playful attitude toward balancing her meals with exercise, adding: “She would say, 'You take care of all the fats and I'll take care of all the carbs at the gym.’”
This comes after Princess Diana's former private secretary, Patrick Jephson, spoke about the life lessons she left behind for her sons to learn from, saying: “If they study Princess Diana's life carefully—and I hope they often do—William, Harry, and their advisors will know that she left them many good examples to follow and also a few important warnings to heed.”
Royal biographer Andrew Morton has also reflected on her legacy, suggesting she would have been a peacemaker between her sons amid their recent estrangement.
“Diana always used to say she had two boys for a reason - the younger would be there to support the older in the lonely task as future King,” he said.
