Apple is gearing up for its big annual event on September 9, where the company is expected to unveil the much-awaited iPhone 17 Series along with the new Apple Watch and upgraded AirPods. But as with every major launch, some older Apple products are likely to be discontinued.
Which iPhones Will Be Discontinued?According to Techlusive, once the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are launched, Apple is expected to discontinue:
-
iPhone 16 Pro
-
iPhone 16 Pro Max
-
iPhone 15
-
iPhone 15 Plus
Along with the older iPhone models, these products may also be phased out:
-
Apple Watch Ultra 2
-
Apple Watch Series 10
-
AirPods Pro (2nd Gen)
-
These products will no longer be sold on Apple’s official website or stores.
-
Manufacturing will also be stopped.
-
However, you may still find them on Amazon, Flipkart, and offline retailers until stocks last. Once sold out, they’ll disappear from the market.
Apple follows this strategy every year to:
Push buyers toward the latest lineup.
Cut production costs by focusing only on current-generation devices.
Offer price cuts on select older models to attract budget-conscious customers.
