KBC 17: Army Women Officers Make Pledge—Sofia Qureshi, Vyomika Singh & Prerna Deosthali to Donate ₹25 Lakh

The special Independence Day episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 (KBC 17) was a memorable one, featuring three courageous women from the Indian defence forces: Colonel Sofia Qureshi (Army), Wing Commander Vyomika Singh (Air Force), and Commander Prerna Deosthali (Navy). The trio jointly won a sum of ₹25 lakh on Amitabh Bachchan’s hot seat, but what truly touched the audience was their selfless decision regarding the prize money.

How Will They Spend the Prize Money?

All three officers announced that they will donate the entire winnings to the welfare funds of their respective services, underlining their lifelong commitment to the larger family of the armed forces:

• Colonel Sofia Qureshi:
  Will donate to the ‘Indian Army Central Welfare’ fund, dedicated to soldier families’ welfare.

• Wing Commander Vyomika Singh:
  Will contribute to the Air Force Family Welfare Association for the school ‘Umeed’, which supports the education and care of specially-abled children.

• Commander Prerna Deosthali:
  Will give the amount to ‘Indian Navy Welfare and Wellness’, which looks after the naval family’s well-being.
