'Hidden gem' seaside town is perfect to visit for its beautiful views and secluded beaches

Nothing ruins a trip to somewhere sunny like a crowded and noisy beach, but there are some beautiful seaside in the that are incredibly underrated. Conwy is a charming coastal town on the north coast of that is located between both a river and sea.

Its unique location means it has some very scenic waterfront views and is also right next to several beaches that are a short walk away from the town. However, one of the best reasons to visit Conway is its rich history as medieval walls surround the town and it has a magnificent castle which dramatically overlooks one of the beaches.

Conwy has been named one of the best "hidden gem coastal towns" by Breakfree Holidays due to the stunning scenery and fascinating castle.

They said: "Conwy's Unesco-listed castle dominates the walled town. But a recent regeneration project at Conwy Quay has brought new life to the waterfront.

"To appreciate Conwy's superb natural location, take a stroll along the quayside towards the marina, hugging the headland with views of gently bobbing fishing boats and birdlife from the nearby RSPB reserve fluttering playfully overhead."

One of the biggest reasons to visit Conwy is obviously its well preserved architecture as it still has its 13th century walls, towers and castle which were build by King Edward I.

It is a great place to explore medieval history but Conwy Castle has truely breathtaking views of the surrounding sea, hills and even the town make it well worth a visit.

If you are more of a sun seeker, then right next to the town is Conwy Morfa Beach, a sandy area with views of the hills and it is known for being quiet, so it is definitely worth a visit if you want a peaceful trip.

There is also Deganwy Beach, which has pebbles at the top but is sandier the closer you get to the water. It is a little further away but is known to have fantastic views of Conwy so is worth a visit if you want to take lots of pictures.

However, one of the biggest reasons to visit Conwy it is known for its fun festivals, and just recently it celebrate the Conwy Pirate Festival to celebrate the town's heritage. It included a treasure hunt, performances, workshops and even a militia re-enactment on a ship.

Conwy is a beautiful place known for its rich history and fantastic view with plenty to do for such a small town so if you are looking for a quiet seaside getaway then this is definitely a town you should consider.
