Manchester United fans have made it clear which striker they now want at Old Trafford this summer, with the club poised to miss out on Viktor Gyokeres. The Swedish international has rejected a move in favour of joining Arsenal and playing Champions League football.
That deal, however, appears on hold with the Gunners struggling to negotiate terms with Sporting CP. The prospect of United capitalising still appears unlikely, with supporters now urging the club to pursue other No.9 options. They've seemingly lost patience with £72million man Rasmus Hojlund, who has scored just 14 Premier League goals since moving from Atalanta two years ago.
In an Express Sport poll, a majority of 42 per cent of readers voted for Victor Osimhen to be United's prime target. The Nigerian striker scored 37 times in 41 games on loan at Galatasaray last season, with the Turkish club now bidding to sign him permanently from Napoli.
The 26-year-old, who has also been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, reportedly has a £42million release clause in his current contract. It's a fee seemingly within United's reach if they can offload the likes of Hojlund, Marcus Rashford, and Alejandro Garnacho this summer.

Behind Osimhen, Dominic Calvert-Lewin was second on the list with 18 per cent. The ex-Everton man is said to have already been offered to United on a free transfer, although his injury record makes the prospect of him becoming the club's lead striker remote.
After scoring 17 times for Crystal Palace last season, French forward Jean-Philippe Mateta got 12 per cent of the vote. Just behind him was compatriot and Eintracht Frankfurt man Hugo Ekitike on 11 per cent.
Just 10 per cent of fans supported a move for Juventus' Dusan Vlahovic, and despite links with a switch to the Premier League, RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko was stuck at seven per cent. The results leave club chiefs in little doubt over who the fans want through the door.
Osimhen has previously been targeted by the likes of Chelsea, with his reported wage demands proving a stumbling block to any move. However, given their desperate need for a clinical forward, supporters on the red side of Manchester clearly feel the financial gamble is worth it after their wretched 2024/25 campaign.
