Princess Kate and Prince William delighted fans on Tuesday when they posted a new regal photograph of themselves before attending a state banquet. The Prince and Princess of Wales took to their official social media page ahead of the banquet on Tuesday, which was being held at Windsor Castle to mark the French state visit.
In the photograph, William and Kate could be seen dressed up for the occasion standing side-by-side, with William sporting a white shirt and black tailcoat look, while Kate stunned in a long red gown. The pair were both grinning in the photograph as they looked towards the camera.
While the outfits worn by the future King and Queen were typical of that of a state visit, it is fair to say that the location of the photograph - taken by Andrew Parsons - was not.
This is because royal portraits before formal occasions are usually taken in the state rooms of Palaces. However, this one was taken outside in a natural setting, with Kate, 43, and William, 43, standing on a grass lawn, as reported by People.
Trees and hedges can be seen behind the couple, as well as a glimpse of sunshine.
It is not known exactly where the photograph was taken, but it is believed to have been either in the grounds of Windsor Castle, where the state visit was held, or in the garden of their nearby home Adelaide Cottage, where the couple live with their three children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7.
The backdrop of the photograph looks similar to the background of a photograph released of Prince William and the family puppies last month to celebrate his 43rd birthday. This photograph was believed to have been taken outside the family home.
While the royal photograph of William and Kate before the banquet on Tuesday wasn't taken in a usual formal location, royal fans did not seem to mind in the slightest, and instead appeared to love the photograph.
One royal fan wrote on Instagram: "What a beautiful picture of you two!"
Another said: "One of the best pictures I have ever seen of both of you."
Someone else wrote: "Perfect photo."
