Princess Kate demonstrated her true feelings after arriving at the press box in Wimbledon ahead of the women's singles Wimbledon final. The Princess of Wales, who in January announced she was in remission from cancer, received a standing ovation from the 15,000 strong crowd inside Centre Court on Saturday (July 12) afternoon. It was noisier than ever before and expert lip reader Jeremy Freeman analysed her stunned response.
Looking at the crowd, he believes Kate said: "Thanks. Hi." And turning to somebody out of shot, she gushed: "Sweet, very nice to hear!"
Moments earlier she shook hands with former Wimbledon champion Martina Navratilova, 68, before greeting tennis legend Billie Jean King, 81, who curtsied to her.
And after Billie asked how she was, she replied: "Beautiful."
After watching the final, where Poland's Iga Swiatek defeated American Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0, she offered words of encouragement to both the winner and loser.
Speaking to Anisimova, Jeremy had her saying: "You should be so proud, well done, and enjoy yourself."
Kate, 43, later engaged in conversation with the winner Swiatek backstage and she reportedly advised her: "Ensure that you have some downtime."
Earlier in the conversation, she said: "Wonderful, extraordinary achievement, very well done. Congratulations and enjoy it. Enjoy the celebrations back home."

After becoming the first Polish woman to win at Wimbledon, Siatek told the crowd: "First of all I want to congratulate Amanda for an amazing two weeks no matter what happened today. I hope we're going to play many more finals here and at other tournaments.
"I didn't even dream [about winning] because it was way too far, I feel like I'm already an experienced player after winning the slams before but I never really expected this one."
Kate is the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club and she has been present on Centre Court for many years since marrying Prince William back in 2011.
She presented the men's singles trophy to Carlos Alcaraz last year and she may do the same this afternoon when the Spaniard takes on Jannik Sinner in the highly anticipated final.
