Royal fans horrified as Meghan Markle posts clip of feet up in limo by Diana crash tunnel

Royal fans are up in arms after Meghan Markle posted a video of her feet up on the leather interior of a limo close to the Paris tunnel where Princess Diana died in a car crash. The video was shot as Megan made her way back from her surprise appearance at fashion week, marking her first appearance in Europe in two years.

Now the Duchess is facing severe backlash after sharing the "thoughtless" clip on her Instagram page. Her controversial post has been slammed as "bewilderingly tasteless". The footage, which appears to be filmed from the duchess's point of view, shows her putting her feet up inside the car with the window rolled down as it passes bridges, including the Pont Alexandre III and the Pont des Invalides.

The next bridge along the Seine is the Pont d'Alma which is where Princess Diana died in August 1997, her partner Dodi Fayed and the vehicle's driver, Henri Paul, also died.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams called the post "insensitive beyond belief" adding that Prince Harry will not be impressed.

Mr Fitzwilliams told the Daily Mail: "I don't understand what on earth she was thinking - well, she can't have been thinking. No adviser would ever advise doing something so strange. I'm sure she didn't mean to cause offence, she can't have been thinking, but it's insensitive beyond belief. It's a complete absence of thought.

"Diana's death is a tragedy that has scarred so much of Harry's life and I can't imagine he would find this very appropriate. While he's always supportive in public I suspect he'll be absolutely horrified and she could hear plenty from him about it."

Royal fans have also rushed to social media to express their disgust.

One X user wrote: "Please tell me that's not real..? She didn't actually do that.. did she..?" "I'm slightly younger than MM, & I have vivid memories of August 1997. I remember watching those boys at the funeral, the pain & grief so raw. She knows exactly what she's doing & I just can't comprehend why she'd do it? It's plain cruel."

"Meghan Markle's video starts with her passing Pont Alexandre III bridge as she continues to the Pont de l'alma bridge, where Diana lost her life in the tunnel. What a vile video of her casually stretching out in her car as she drives over the death scene", said a second.
