Rachel Johnson didn't hold back when she appeared on LBC this evening to discuss issues Sir Keir Starmer's Labour Party is facing. While not supportive of US President Donald Trump, Johnson thinks Labour should "take notes" on the enthusiasm of his policy presentation.
She began: "This is where Donald Trump is a genius - well, by the way he labels things. The great big, one beautiful bill, the great one big beautiful bill. You know, he tariffs-my favourite word.
"Even if his policies are economically moronic, as most economists agree, the way he sells them into his base makes them sound like the best thing since sliced bread, right?"
She added: "I think your basic problem with this government is not what they are doing-it's their presentation."
Her comments sparked a reaction online, with many left divided over her remarks. One person penned on X: "Well, the tariffs Trump has done aren't moronic, it's generating billions more money for the US." Another said: "Bring back Boris."
A third penned: "Why should Labour bother? All they have to do is lie like they do every single day, and the sheep lap it up." A fourth said: "The enthusiasm of his policy presentation is just to deflect."
The interview comes as Trump is set to convene a peace summit at the White House with leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
It's meant to help end nearly four decades of conflict and reopen key transportation routes while allowing the USA to seize on Russia's declining influence in the region.
The White House said the two nations will sign an agreement that will create a transit corridor named the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity.
The route will connect Azerbaijan and its autonomous Nakhchivan exclave, which are separated by a 20-mile-wide patch of Armenian territory.
