Celebrity chef Tom Kerridge, known for his incredible 12 stone weight loss journey, has shared a simple three-ingredient dish that he enjoys at home. The renowned chef, who recently reopened the upscale pub The Chalk Freehouse in Chelsea, revealed his go-to meal during an appearance on Joe Marler's Things People Do podcast, reports GloucestershireLive.
Kerridge admitted that while he does cook at home, it's not quite the same as his professional kitchen achievements. He prefers to keep things "standard", with one particular dish being a firm favourite. The chef said: "I turn the oven on and stuff. I won't put something in the microwave and just press go, but I will cook stuff. Yeah, I will cook stuff."
He continued: "Like, I'll quite happily do it, but it will... it could be a baked potato with baked beans and grated cheese on top. Like, we're quite happy with a standard, but it is yeah... I'll cook at home."
Kerridge also confessed to Joe that he insists on being the one to prepare meals at home, a task his wife is more than happy to let him take on. He added: "If I'm there, I'll do the cooking. I can't sit there and watch somebody else do it.
"I find it easier to just do it, it gets done quicker and it gets done better. But that's the only thing that I'm quicker and better off at home. Nothing else, just that bit.
"We've been married 24 years now so it's to the point where she's just like, 'yeah, you do that, I'll do the rest of it.' Like, she's quite happy to let me cook."
Tom has previously revealed the secret behind his remarkable 12 stone weight loss journey. Kerridge has been adhering to the "dopamine diet", which focuses on foods that enhance dopamine levels.
He's also particularly fond of the humble baked potato, as demonstrated by his latest addition to the menu at his Buckinghamshire establishment, The Coach in Marlow. Tom unveiled an opulent take on the beloved dish, dubbed Baked Potato "Raclette" with Sauce Reform, costing £19.50.
Rather than the conventional baked bean variety, this lavish potato comes stuffed and garnished with ham and cheese. Tom enthusiastically displayed the dish on Instagram, dubbing it a work of art.
The video footage shows how the potato received a light torching for added theatrical effect.
The post's caption states: "Have you tried @thecoachmarlow's famous Baked Potato? This month's features Raclette with Sauce Reform, and let me tell you, it is a work of art."
Nevertheless, not all were convinced by the hefty price point.
One user, @tomcat2183, said: "£19.50 for that you are taking the p*** mate," whilst @chriskelly58 stated: "For £20 it should be ... fancy spud u like."
