One of the benefits of this role is the opportunity to trial a range of gadgets and devices, especially when they're as crucial as a vacuum cleaner. Our reviewer, Jake Hackney, has been testing the With Anti Hair Wrap, which can be slashed from £249 to £109
Here's Jake's review in detail:
This remarkable 56 per cent discount makes it £60 less expensive than and a staggering £140.99 cheaper than (£249.99). According to Hoover, the HF9 delivers the 'perfect balance of suction power and effective run time for the whole house'.
The brand asserts it provides compared to some 'popular competitors' and boasts Anti-Twist technology, which automatically removes hair from the brush bar much like Shark's Anti Hair Wrap. This made it an ideal choice for our home, given our little dog's constant shedding, which necessitates daily vacuuming.
The- Hard Floor, Carpet and Turbo - each adjusting the suction power according to the surface. The Carpet and Turbo modes are quite noisy, but considering the extra suction power and their ability to remove embedded dirt from carpets, it's a small price to pay.
Some customers have found the HF9 a bit on the heavy side - I'd describe it as robust. It does have a certain heft to it, but this is more than compensated for by its ease of manoeuvrability.

The glides effortlessly over our laminate flooring, and its flexible brush head makes it a doddle to clean in various directions - whether that's around table legs, along skirting boards or into corners. However, those who find lifting heavy items difficult might struggle if using it for prolonged periods.
The vacuum's battery can - more than sufficient for a comprehensive clean of our modest three-bedroom house. The LED display conveniently indicates the remaining battery life in minutes, ensuring you're never taken by surprise.
After giving the house a thorough clean, I found no overlooked debris during my post-clean inspection, so it certainly delivers on performance. However, the standout feature of the vacuum HF9 has to be the LED lights in the brush head.
Despite considering myself quite neat and tidy, I was shocked when the lights exposed all the dust and dog hair that had been missed with our previous Dyson. This allowed me to revisit and get into all the hidden spots for a deeper clean.
By transforming it into a handheld vacuum with the included crevice tool, I could easily tackle tricky areas like the sides of cabinets or cracks of stairs. When compared to our Dyson Cyclone V10 - which offers double the runtime but at £379.99 is more than triple the cost - the Hoover HF9 holds its own.
Our trusty old Dyson served us well, but when it began to scratch the floor, we had to resort to a traditional broom. Thankfully, the Hoover's rubber wheels allowed me to ditch the broom and save heaps of time by quickly whizzing it around the house each day.
The free-standing 'Park and Go' feature is another smart addition I didn't know I needed; it's incredibly handy to be able to leave the vacuum standing on its own while moving obstacles, like the dog bed or a line of trainers. Ultimately, the vacuum HF9 may not tower above premium competitors like Shark and Dyson, but it's just as effective and therefore the obvious choice considering its massive price difference.
Many of its features seem to be designed for simplicity - in a positive way. It's incredibly easy to assemble within seconds, simply slot the three parts together and off you go.
Emptying the dustbin is equally straightforward and done literally at the push of a button. Given the significant price difference compared to its main rivals, the vacuum HF9 is more than adequate for cleaning dust, dirt and - crucially for our house - dog hair.
So much so that it begs the question, why fork out hundreds when this £109 vacuum does the job perfectly well? The vacuum HF9 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner With Anti Hair Wrap is available
