NEW DELHI: Delhi Police have arrested three key accused and apprehended a total of seven individuals in connection with the murder of a 17-year-old boy named Kunal in Seelampur.
The main suspects - Zikra, known as 'Lady Don', along with Sahil and Dilshad - were arrested, while several minors are also in police custody.
During police interrogation, Zikra revealed that the murder was an act of revenge. She disclosed that her cousin Sahil was attacked in November last year by two boys, Lala and Shambhu, who were friends of Kunal.
"Delhi Police have apprehended a total of 7 individuals in connection with the Kunal murder case. Key accused Zikra, Sahil, and Dilshad have been arrested, along with several minor suspects who are now in police custody," stated an official police statement.
Kunal was present during the November attack but was not named in the FIR due to being a minor. Zikra and Sahil believed Kunal was behind the attack, which led them to seek revenge against him.
The opposition party criticized the BJP-led government, claiming the situation in Delhi has deteriorated since the new government assumed power.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta addressed the situation, saying, "I have spoken to the Police commissioner about the murder of a 17-year-old boy, Kunal. He was attacked with knives and was rushed to the Jai Prakash hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival."
The victim's mother expressed frustration, stating she had not received any updates from the police and accused authorities of helping the culprits escape.
The incident occurred in the J Block area of Seelampur, where Kunal was stabbed to death. He was later declared dead at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital.
The police investigation is currently ongoing.
