Mangaluru: Puttur MLA Ashok Kumar Rai said that the govt has agreed to sanction five Karnataka Public Schools (KPS) for the Puttur constituency. Rai mentioned that he requested Madhu Bangarappa, the minister for school ieducation and literacy, to approve an additional five KPS model schools for the Puttur assembly constituency.
The MLA, who met the minister in Bengaluru, noted that there are currently two KPS schools in Puttur providing quality education with good student enrolment. He urged the approval of five more schools for the area. In some rural govt schools, student numbers are below the minimum required. Such schools will be merged with KPS schools. The MLA mentioned in the request that starting KPS model schools would help provide quality education in one place.
Ashok Rai also appealed to the minister to release grants for the development of various schools and colleges in the Puttur assembly constituency. The minister assured that funds would be provided under a special scheme, the MLA said.
