New Delhi: Days after news of his departure from the Indian camp emerged, men's cricket team's assistant coach Abhishek Nayar has rejoined the Kolkata Knight Riders in the middle of the ongoing Indian Premier League ( IPL ). As TimesofIndia.com had reported earlier in the day, Nayar was set to join the IPL franchise but the move comes even before Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) could make an official announcement on the development.
When reached out, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia had said that they will give a "clear picture in 1-2 days" but in an unprecedented move, Shah Rukh Khan's IPL franchise made Nayar's arrival official via a social media post on Saturday.

The three-time IPL champions further said that the former India all-rounder is likely to be part of the side's training session at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on the day, and he was spotted with head coach Chandrakant Pandit at the iconic venue.
TimesofIndia.com reached out to Saikia again for a comment on the latest development but the BCCI secretary continues to maintain silence over the matter.
It is understood that the decision of not continuing was communicated to Nayar few days ago but there is no official word from the Indian cricket board yet.
The change comes on expected lines after the move was hinted at by KKR spinner Varun Chakravarthy in an Instagram story. In the post, the spinner had posted an image of himself alongside Nayar in KKR colours.
Yet, the move raises red flags. Nayar, who had recently been part of the Indian setup, has insider knowledge of Gujarat Titans players Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj and Washington Sundar, to name a few. That information could be vital when KKR face GT on Monday evening.
