A Domino’s Pizza outlet in Herriman, Utah, was destroyed Saturday night after an SUV crashed into the building, rupturing a gas line and triggering a massive explosion.
Video footage shared by UFA shows firefighters battling the blaze when a sudden explosion sent debris flying. Over 60 firefighters responded to the scene.
The incident began with a three-vehicle collision , according to the Unified Fire Authority (UFA), Utah’s largest fire agency. One of the vehicles veered off the road and slammed into the commercial building, which also housed a Jimmy John’s and Supercuts.
Just moments before the SUV burst into flames, two bystanders courageously pulled the driver and passenger from the vehicle, saving their lives.
The building was unoccupied at the time of the crash, and while three people involved in the accident were hospitalised, no injuries were reported from the explosion itself.
The blast caused severe damage to all three businesses. Officials have not yet released details about what caused the initial crash.
Herriman is located about 30 minutes southwest of Salt Lake City and borders the city of Riverton.
