Matter Aera Electric Bike to Launch in 8 Indian Cities Within 45 Days

Matter Aera Expands Beyond Bengaluru

Ahmedabad-based electric mobility startup Matter is gearing up for a rapid rollout of its flagship Aera electric motorcycle across eight major Indian cities over the next 45 days. After receiving positive feedback during its initial launch in Bengaluru, the Aera is now set to debut in Pune, Delhi, Chennai, Coimbatore, Mumbai, Jaipur, Surat, and Rajkot.

To facilitate this expansion, Matter will establish “Experience Hubs” in each of the new cities. These interactive hubs will allow potential customers to test ride the Aera and evaluate how the electric bike fits into daily commuting needs. Bookings are now open through Matter’s official website and other online platforms.

Speaking on the development, Mohal Lalbhai, Founder and CEO of Matter, shared that the response in Bengaluru encouraged the company to accelerate its pan-India strategy. “Our mission is to democratize electric mobility, and we believe the Aera aligns well with the needs of diverse urban riders,” Lalbhai said.

India’s First Geared Electric Motorcycle

The Matter Aera stands out in the Indian electric two-wheeler market for its manual gear-shifting system, making it India’s first geared electric motorcycle. The Aera comes in two variants:

• Aera 5000 ₹1.74 lakh (ex-showroom)

• Aera 5000+ ₹1.84 lakh (ex-showroom)

Both variants are powered by a 10 kW (13.4 bhp) electric motor capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 km/h in just six seconds. Matter claims a full-charge range of 125 km, positioning the Aera as an efficient choice for urban and suburban travel.

Tech-Forward Features and Low Running Costs

The Matter Aera is built with tech-savvy riders in mind. It features a 7-inch touchscreen console that supports navigation, music, call management, and more. The motorcycle can be charged from a standard 5-amp socket, adding to its convenience factor.

With a running cost estimated at just 25 paise per kilometer, the Aera is both eco-friendly and economical. Its performance, paired with cutting-edge design and interactive features, is expected to appeal to young, tech-oriented consumers and sustainability-conscious riders alike.
